Manulife was unable to disqualify Lawyer Jan Fishman from representing a disgruntled claim holder in a suit against Manulife. Manulife, unsuccessfully tried to argue that Mr. Fishman had previously worked for Manulife and therefore his representation of the claimholder formed a conflict. Mr. Fishman was represented by Ravi Hira QC.

Adrian Bergeron was sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated assault of a Crown prosecutor and intimidation of the justice system. Ravi Hira QC served as the government appointed special prosecutor on this case.
